Strathroy-Caradoc Community Improvement Plan

Planning & Policy

Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc

Strathroy-Caradoc, Ontario

2020

Re:Public led the development of a new comprehensive Community Improvement Plan for the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, creating a framework to support investment and community improvement across both its urban and rural areas. The Plan was shaped through extensive engagement with the business community, municipal staff, Council, and the public, beginning with a Downtown Summit that helped establish local priorities and direction for the CIP.

Building on this input and the Municipality’s Official Plan, Strategic Plan, and Economic Development Strategy, Re:Public developed ten financial incentive programs addressing priorities including affordable housing, redevelopment of underutilized lands, downtown and core area revitalization, job creation, heritage conservation, climate resilience, and tourism. The CIP also established a municipal leadership strategy to complement private investment through initiatives related to streetscapes, public parking, wayfinding and signage, and design guidelines.
