Cornwall Housing Revitalization Plan

Planning & Policy

City of Cornwall

Cornwall, Ontario

2021-2022

Colliers Project Leaders

As part of a project team with Colliers Project Leaders, Re:Public provided planning expertise for the development of a Housing Revitalization Master Plan for the City of Cornwall and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. The Plan established a long-term approach to managing and revitalizing the City’s community housing portfolio while identifying opportunities to expand the supply of affordable housing through existing assets, public lands, and integration with new market-rate development.

Re:Public’s work combined policy and best-practice research, community and municipal engagement, and GIS-based analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities for housing development and revitalization. This included evaluating the existing housing portfolio and working with local municipalities across SDG to identify publicly owned lands with housing potential. Selected sites were inventoried, mapped, and evaluated against a series of development considerations, providing an evidence-based foundation for prioritizing future investment and informing the final Master Plan.
