    Paul Hicks is the founder and principal of Re:Public Urbanism. An urban planner by training, Paul has worked with all levels of government and private sector clients across Canada on a diverse range of projects including master plans, public consultation, research, strategies, and development approvals. An experienced project manager, Paul employs a collaborative, design-centric approach to urban planning. He holds degrees in environmental studies, public administration, and urban planning and is a registered professional planner with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

    Jesse is an urban planner with more than a decade of experience in policy development, GIS, development approvals, and municipal planning in both the public and private sectors. He has specific experience in the development of municipal plans, community improvement plans, housing strategies, as well as leading public engagement programmes big and small for a range of audiences. His interested lie in policy development, GIS analysis, community planning and design, and the exploration of progressive approaches to issues of social equity in the planning process. Jesse holds a Bachelor of Arts, Specialization Urban Planning, from Concordia University and is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).

    Michelle is an urban designer with professional experience in both Architecture and Urban Design. Her experience has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of project design ranging from small-scale residential developments to master planned communities. She has worked for both private and public sector clients in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, Nunavut and England.

    With a background in Urbanism, Michelle obtained her Bachelor of Architectural Studies in 2015 from Carleton University and her Masters of Urbanism in 2019 from TU Delft. Michelle has successfully contributed to a broad range of design projects including Concept Plans, Urban Design Guidelines, Official Plans, Zoning By-Law, Design Manuals, Landscape Concept Design, Renderings, and other graphic design material. Her passion stems from her understanding of built-form and its role in shaping the future of our communities.

    Mike is a bilingual urban planner with a background in development and policy planning. Through his extensive professional experience, he has had the opportunity to work on a range of planning projects, specializing in development applications from small residential infill to large scale mixed-use developments for both private and public sector clients. In addition, Mike has assisted in the preparation and review of policy and regulatory documents for various municipalities across Canada and acted as an expert witness before the Ontario Municipal Board / Local Planning Appeals Tribunal. Mike has had the opportunity to explore other matters of interest including heritage protection, design work and planning for urban cycling. This depth of experience has allowed Mike to employ and hone his exemplary communication and technical skills.

    Masha is an urban planner specializing in housing with professional experience in both urban planning and architecture. While working towards her Master of Science degree at McGill University, she joined Re:public Urbanism in 2025. Her experience practicing in both urban planning

    and architectural fields in Canada and Ukraine has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of planning projects ranging from small-scale infills to the implementation of policies on a municipal scale. She has worked for NGOs and private and public sector clients across Canada and Ukraine. Her interests evolve around "right to housing," housing (un)affordability, cooperativism and urban activism.

    Rosalie Joly-Simard is a bilingual urban planner with a background in geography, transportation, and sustainability. She brings experience in research, GIS analysis, community engagement, and both transportation and site planning. Her work spans the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, with projects ranging from cycling engagement to portfolio analysis and adaptive reuse evaluation. Rosalie is particularly interested in advancing social equity, environmental sustainability, and public health through inclusive planning and design. She holds degrees in Geography and Environment and Urban Planning.
